Blue Mountains Horse & Pony Riding

Embark on an unforgettable horse ride through the Kanimbla Valley, just a 25-30 minute drive from Blackheath. Nestled within the scenic Centennial Glen area, our rides offer breathtaking views of the Blue Mountains escarpment. Riding groups are kept small, prioritising your safety and allowing you to fully appreciate the tranquillity of this stunning valley.

Our stables & site is accredited with Horse Safety Australia.

Heads up! The road to the stables is actually OPEN, even though Google Maps shows it as closed.

 

 

Horse Rides

For first-time riders, your safety is paramount. You'll be given the opportunity to trot or canter at the guide's discretion, ensuring it's safe to do so. Of course, we can cater to experienced riders as well.

Please note that all rides require a minimum of two participants. Single riders are welcome to join another group.

  • $80 - 1/2 Hour
    $90 - 1 Hour
    $140 - 1.5 Hours
    $175 - 2 Hours

    Private Rides
    Add 100% for two riders.
    Add 50% for three riders or more.
    8 Riders or more, no extra Fees.

    Please Note:

    Ages for rides are 8 years and up.
    Riders Weight Limits 100 kgs: (220 Pounds).
    15% surcharge will be applied to all prices on NSW public holidays.

  • All rides are led by experienced and friendly guides who have undergone mandatory Working With Children checks. Our senior guides hold accreditation with Horse Safety Australia, and our stables and site itself are also accredited.

    With our calm and well-trained horses, coupled with our friendly guides, you are sure to have a thoroughly enjoyable riding experience.

Children Pony & Lead Rides

Ages for pony rides are 4 years and over. The ponies will be led by one of our staff.

  • $65 - 30 Min Lead Ride

    Please Note: a 15% surcharge will be applied to all prices on NSW public holidays.

  • Ages for Pony Rides are 4 years and over.

    The ponies will be led by one of our staff.

    If the child is less than 6 years, a parent is needed to walk beside the pony providing support for the child.

Riding Lessons

Our introductory lesson teaches safe mounting, basic riding at a walk, and essential skills, all guided by experienced instructors.

  • $90 - Half Hour Lesson

    $180 - Half Hour Lesson and Half Hour Ride

    8 years and up.

  • HALF-HOUR LESSON:

    Develop foundational riding skills in this 30-minute lesson. Learn balance and horse control through obstacle navigation, progressing to walking, trotting, and potentially cantering based on individual safety and proficiency. The student will be led by the guide until they can safely control the horse.

    HALF-HOUR LESSON + HALF-HOUR RIDE:

    Following the 30-minute lesson, apply your newly acquired skills in a one on one trail ride.

Sunset Trail Ride

The valley is a fantastic place to ride – especially at sunset, when you can enjoy the amazing change of colours on the Blue Mountain escarpments.

  • $160 - 1.5 Hour ride

    Prices are per person

  • You will ride with our experienced guide, and will be able to trot and canter if it is safe to do so.

  • The ride starts 1.5 hours before sunset

Horsemanship Experience Day

Dive into a full day of horsemanship alongside friendly and experienced guides. Get hands-on experience with all aspects of horse care, from catching and feeding to brushing, saddling, and 3 hours of riding.

This program is perfect for individuals with some prior horse handling or riding experience.

  • 12 & Under $250, over $300 each

    Horsemanship Trainee.
    Only available to trainees, please contact management for details.

  • 8.30 am to 3 pm

    No lunch provided, please BYO

    If you are more experienced you will get a chance to trot and canter, if safe to do so.

  • Best for children over the age of 10 years.
